MobTrack24 news for 2014: tachographs, mobile app, eco-driving and routes

First page of the MobTrack24 2014 flyer

The 2014 flyer presents an important stage in the development of the MobTrack24 system, when the platform expanded beyond basic online vehicle tracking into more advanced fleet operations control. One of the key innovations was the remote download of data from digital tachographs via the GSM network. This eliminated the need to wait for the truck to return to base, manually copy tachograph files and transfer them afterwards. For transport companies, this meant faster access to legally and operationally important data, less administration and more efficient fleet management.

Key features introduced in 2014

The second page of the flyer presents three important features that show how MobTrack24 was expanding as a platform. MobTrack24 mobile Lite enabled registered users to access the system through an Android phone, view vehicles on a satellite map and use multiple reports. Green Driving was introduced as a tool for monitoring and improving driving style, with a focus on reducing unnecessary acceleration, aggressive braking and sudden turns. Route Planning was developed as an operational tool for route planning, driver orders, maps, route statistics, reports on unrealized routes and analysis of transport and human resource utilization.

Value for system users

The features presented in the 2014 flyer show that MobTrack24 was already being developed as a process management platform, not only as a system for displaying vehicle locations. Remote tachograph download solved a concrete problem for transport companies by enabling access to tachograph data without physical contact with the vehicle. Green Driving provided measurable benefits through reduced fuel consumption and lower maintenance costs, while Route Planning enabled more precise planning of deliveries, field visits and route analysis. The Android mobile application further increased system availability by allowing fleet managers to monitor vehicles and reports directly from their phones.
