Measuring fuel level and consumption — multiple methods, complete control
MobTrack24 enables the measurement of fuel levels and consumption through multiple technological approaches, depending on the type of vehicle, required precision and business scenario. Data can be obtained from the vehicle's on-board computer using the CAN bus, from the vehicle's on-board computer using the OBD connection, as well as using LLS probes to measure the fuel level in the tank. The advantage of CAN and OBD approaches is that, in addition to fuel level and consumption, they allow access to numerous other vehicle parameters, while LLS probes are an option when the priority is to measure the fuel level as accurately as possible. In this way, the fleet gets the flexibility to apply the method that gives the best balance between functionality, precision and operational value for each vehicle.

Measurement of fuel level and consumption through the CAN bus, OBD connection and LLS probes — depending on the vehicle, the application and the required level of precision.
More measurement methods, more relevant data and better consumption control bring more efficient fleet management and more stable operating costs.
CAN bus — fuel and wider insight into vehicle operation
One way to measure fuel is to get data from the vehicle's on-board computer using the CAN bus. This approach, in addition to fuel level and consumption, allows the reading of other important vehicle parameters — such as mileage, RPM, engine temperature, speed, load and other available data, depending on the manufacturer, model and year
OBD connection — a practical solution for quick deployment
MobTrack24 also allows getting data from the trip computer using the OBD connection. This is a practical solution especially for passenger and light commercial vehicles, because in addition to fuel levels and consumption, it also provides access to additional data on the vehicle's operation, which provides a wider operational context and a better basis for analysis, reporting and optimization
LLS probes — when fuel level accuracy is a priority
When it is most important to measure the fuel level in the tank as accurately as possible, it is possible to use LLS probes. This approach gives very precise information about the fuel level, but it is functionally narrower than the CAN/OBD approach, because it is focused primarily on the fuel level. In practice, it is used when precisely this precision is the key requirement of the business scenario.

Result
Better fuel control through a measurement method that best suits the specific vehicle and business need — with more data, clearer insight into consumption and a more secure basis for cost management.
Key Benefits
Multiple measurement methods in one platform
The CAN bus, OBD connection and LLS probes allow for each vehicle to choose the approach that best suits its purpose and technical capabilities.
CAN and OBD deliver more than just fuel levels
In addition to fuel level and consumption, 10 to 20 additional vehicle parameters are available, which enables deeper analysis and better decisions.
Precision where it's needed most
When the priority is to measure the fuel level as accurately as possible, LLS probes are a suitable option within the same system.
A stronger basis for controlling costs and anomalies
Accurate and timely data enable better spending control, earlier detection of deviations and better operational and financial reporting.
